Full time post available for someone who has an interest in oncology plastic surgery focusing on the skin cancer pathway and has a passion for excellent care and compassion for our patients going through their cancer pathway. Oncology experience is desirable - surgical nursing experience and communication skills are essential.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist works as a key worker for patient's undergoing plastic oncology surgery, providing specialist education, information and support for patients and their carer's, as well as other health care professionals.
You will be part of a wide MDT and will work in collaboration with medical teams within a specific client group, practising to clearly defined protocols, and developing their scope of professional practice to meet the needs of the service.
The post holder will effectively contribute to the development of the cancer specialist nurse service, and communicate with other colleagues at the referring associate centres and units to ensure a streamlined care pathway
Main duties of the job
We care for all surgical oncology patients pre and post operatively within the Christie, working closely with the MDT to ensure safe recovery and safe discharge
