Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for multi-skilled maintenance technician with a Mechanical(plumbing) bias to join our team.
You will need to be able to demonstrate commitment, enthusiasm, professionalism, working within a fast-paced healthcare environment. We are looking for an individual with the ability and willingness to work outside of their comfort zone.
Main duties of the job
The Estates Hard FM team is looking to recruit a mechanically (plumbing biased) multi-skilled technician with a rounded working knowledge of systems such as:
- Large heating systems covering various sources of supply i.e., plate heat exchangers, calorifiers and boilers. Heating distribution i.e., VT, CT and mechanical ventilation.
- Domestic hot water systems
- Mechanical ventilation plant
- Chilled water systems
- Cold water mains systems both boosted and mains supply.
- Drainage and rainwater systems.
- Water systems within a healthcare environment
- Knowledge of WRAS and HTM's
As well as having a biased towards the above mechanical systems, the successful candidate will also be expected to undertake duties on other systems that the department is responsible for, including but not limited to:
- Electrical distribution systems
- Medical gas systems
- Air conditioning systems
- Fire detection systems
- Building management systems
You will be responsible for the day-to-day repairs, PPM and operational testing for a wide range of building services and equipment located at the Trust.
You will be a keen team member and will have served a recognised apprenticeship to City and Guild/NVQ level 3 standard/BTEC-OHC/HNC or equivalent in domestic and commercial plumbing.

Pay between £28,407 - £34,581 + On Call payment.
