Job summary

GatewayC is an online platform which delivers high quality education to support GPs and other primary care professionals in the early diagnosis of cancer. We are looking for an ambitious Media Production Manager to support the GatewayC programme.

The post holder will be responsible for providing digital media expertise for the development, delivery, and maintenance of digital learning activities across GatewayC. You'll lead on the design and production of a range of digital media, supporting subject matter experts and education developers at all stages of development. Providing creative and technical expertise, advice, guidance, encouragement and support on the use of multimedia.

You'll be working as part of a friendly, ambitious, and dedicated team. To be successful in this role you will be an organised, skilled team member and able to deliver a comprehensive media production service to all members of the GatewayC team across a number of projects.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be highly experienced in media production. You'll have a proactive, forward-thinking approach and will keep abreast of new technologies.

Alongside this, we require initiative and willingness to work in a team in a rapidly developing work environment.

This is an important role in a professional, creative, and forward-thinking team. You will therefore need to have outstanding technical and project management skills. You will also need to have exceptional communication skills as you'll be dealing with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, clinicians and other specialists to create a range of engaging and innovative educational resources.

We are looking for a motivated individual with a 'can-do' approach and an ability to deliver to tight deadlines. We will need you to be flexible in your approach and have outstanding attention to detail.

The Christie is one of Europe's leading cancer centres, treating over 60,000 patients a year. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Main Tasks

Digital Production

  • Manage and lead on all of GatewayCs media projects, including video and audio production, utilising appropriate project management methodologies
  • Use creative interpretation to ensure resources meet briefs that are aligned to learning outcomes and are underpinned by sound educational principles
  • Manage all aspects of filming, either on or off-site, including but not limited to: asset

selection and maintenance, location scouting and hiring, transport arrangements set

dressing and lighting provision sourcing and directing talent and filming and audio capture

  • Develop, coordinate and maintain a range of appropriate documentation, including but not limited to; creative briefs, risk assessments, production schedules, project plans and talent/contributor consent forms,
  • Manage and monitor project specific video hosting needs, in accordance with Service Level Agreements, communicating with the team to ensure provision is continued as required
  • Work within internal and client-supplied brand guidelines where applicable
  • Be a source of expertise for video and audio editing, leading on a range of projects,

including but not limited to: training videos, expert interviews, documentaries, talking heads and promotional materials.

  • Create high quality motion graphics to support media projects, including (but not limited to) titling, intro sequences and explainer-style animations
  • Manage and monitor media production assets, digital repositories, and multimedia software licenses
  • At times, work in complex environments covering sensitive topics, sometimes with patients, providing reassurance and support in calm manner

Collaboration and communication

  • Collaborate with clinical staff, subject specialists, colleagues and other key stakeholders at a range of levels to storyboard and develop scripts, to produce dynamic, media rich content and resources
  • Provide expert advice to the GatewayC team on best practice and appropriate ways to present ideas and information in media projects
  • Lead on the implementation of review processes with relevant GatewayC colleagues, subject matter experts and other key stakeholders to ensure final products are as desired, meet briefs and are high quality
  • Communicate and collaborate with educational specialists to clarify technical issues and obtain information, gathering and analysing the information needs of the user
  • Collaborate with a range of other media teams, including but not limited to: The Christie Communications team, The Christie Medical Illustration team, GM Cancer and outsourced organisations as required

Management and leadership

  • Along with the other GatewayC colleagues, support the Programme Manager in all aspects of the day to day management of GatewayC
  • Take a lead in wider team mentoring and providing learning opportunities with respect to media production, supporting skills development across GatewayC, the School of Oncology and Trust, as appropriate
  • Under the direction of theProgramme Manager, have delegated responsibility for budgets, ensuring compliance with all Trust Standing Financial Instructions. This could include but is not limited to; supporting the management of income generation (e.g. quoting new business), supporting the management of expenditure/procurement, providing business cases as appropriate, and ensuring purchase orders and invoices are raised in a timely manner
  • Support the Programme Manager in securing new business opportunities and partnerships
  • Manage difficult situations in a calm and pleasant manager, taking lead responsibility to find solutions to complex and/or time sensitive issues
  • Deputise for the Programme Manager, as appropriate, during periods of absence

Quality and governance

  • Audit compliance with GDPR, IPR and consent management, providing regular reports to the Programme Manager, taking immediate action as appropriate
  • Support data reporting processes and requirements, in line with GDPR
  • Develop and maintain a system which enables effective quality assurance of resources and working practices, providing regular reports to the Programme Manager, taking immediate action as appropriate
