Job summary

We are looking for an excellent marketing and communications specialist who will work as part of our creative and motivated team as we undertake a major branding exercise. Our team delivers learning on a local, national and international basis and we need the right person to help us to deliver our ambitious future plans. This exciting new post will provide a source of professional direction, advice and support to colleagues across Christie Education in the delivery of highly effective communications and marketing activities for all services. The successful candidate will demonstrate an enterprising and integrated approach to marketing which includes traditional, digital and social media channels and evolving technologies. This will include professional insight to ensure Christie Education continues to positively enhance its profile and reputation on a local, national and international basis. The post holder will play a leadership role in advising on communication and marketing practices across the Christie Education; upholding a culture of highly professional and effective communications and marketing.

Job responsibilities

Planning

  • Responsible for developing and delivering the Christie Education Communications and Marketing Plan
  • Working with the key leads, external providers and clinical colleagues to operationalise the plan, developing a clear narrative and relevant content across multiple channels
  • Support service managers in developing tactical marketing plans in accordance with the strategy, to ensure an integrated marketing and communications approach
  • Develop effective communication channels using techniques appropriate to the audience
  • Develop an annual communications plan, ensuring a compelling programme of digital content which inspires and engages key audiences
  • Ensure an effective online and social media plan, maximising reach, growing digital audience and building brand awareness, delegating to the Marketing Assistant where appropriate

Engagement

  • Secure staff, and other stakeholder, engagement and awareness of Christie Education activities and policies, securing engagement and feedback to inform marketing approaches
  • Create a programme of engagement activities to fully engage all stakeholders in the work and operational outputs of the Christie Education
  • Offer one-to-one and small group training to upskill staff with responsibility for visual identity, social media, events management and internal and external communication

Engage with a range of stakeholders (including senior leaders and decision makers) across the Trust and externally, delivering an image of the Christie Education which translates the intricacies of the business into a clear-cut vision

Evaluation and quality assurance

  • Systematically gather competitor intelligence and conducting market research, disseminating findings and offering advice on the revision and development of existing and new activities
  • Provide relevant and actionable management information on key audiences, target market groups, competitor products/ offering, pricing, marketing and recruitment KPIs
  • Work with colleagues to support and implement effective evaluation processes

Brand awareness and management

  • Develop and manage a brand which reflects the reputation and ambitions of the Christie Education negotiating with senior colleagues to ensure the brand is able to meet planned KPIs
  • Ensure all activity is undertaken in line with the agreed integrated brand, marketing and communications strategy
  • Work with all Christie Education colleagues to ensure that branding guidelines are adopted and used effectively, creating collateral to support understanding

Media, design and collateral

  • Create high impact, persuasive communications for all activities, delivering accurate and compelling copy for all channels
  • Responsible for all publicly distributed copy, both digital and print, delegating where appropriate.
  • Lead in the production of new and engaging forms of content that supports the strategy and covers all areas of activity in Christie Education
  • Responsible for the website in partnership with internal stakeholders developers, and oversee the contributions and updates from all areas of the Christie Education, delegating where appropriate
  • Work closely with colleagues, and communications and digital teams to ensure that the Christie Education brand visibility and ranking in search is maximised through relevant content and engagement

Resource and financial management

  • Responsible for delegated budget, undertaking annual planning, authorising expenditure and procuring services as needed.
  • Work closely with team managers to support budget allocation for marketing purposes
  • Manage all expenditure to ensure that activities are measured, reported and deliver ROI against objective
  • Support the development and implementation of performance/ROI model to track, report and evaluate the effectiveness of all activity to inform future initiatives
  • Develop KPIs and metrics to measure the performance of activity (reach and impact), and show value for money, using quantitative and qualitative research methods to inform future strategies
  • Create tools, templates and guidance for staff with regard to communications and marketing across the Christie Education
