Job summary
Non-Medical Practice Education is responsible for learners on placement from Greater Manchester, North West and UK-wide universities.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed registered nurse with a keen interest in education to assist with the delivery of education and learning environment development for nursing, including TNAs, and Allied Health Profession learners. You will work in the Medical and Non-Medical Education team within the School of Oncology, to develop quality learning environments and support the breadth of the learner's clinical placement experience across non-medical professions and support the development for new nursing and allied health profession learners.
The Trust is currently in the process of increasing nursing placement activity, without loss to the quality of experience, to meet the growing demands of Greater Manchester and the NHS. The successful candidate will be a key player in achieving the Trusts and School of Oncology educational objectives.
Candidates must have highly effective interpersonal skills including the ability to work with a diverse team of professionals; able to influence and negotiate effectively at all levels and use own initiative. Must have excellent organisational and administrative skills and be able to meet tight deadlines. Experience of teaching, coaching mentoring and assessing healthcare learners is essential. Familiarity and experience with PARE is essential.
Main duties of the job
Demonstrate a pleasant, approachable, and proactive manner to create and promote good working relationships within the School of Oncology and the clinical divisions.Work in partnership with the Education Leads, assessors and supervisors to ensure all learners are offered high quality learning environment.Work in partnership with Higher Education Institutions (HEI), supervisors and assessorsEnsure that all Trainee Nursing Associates are supported to fulfil their assessment needs throughout their programme and coordinate rotational learning environments. Liaise with HR and managers to identify qualified NA posts on completion of TNA trainingEnsure effective introduction and management of allocated learners across all undergraduate learner professions in all learning environments including the development and expansion of capacityDevelop and scope expansion of capacity to meet the Trust, regional and national demand.Support the development, implementation and review of education in practice and associated learning environmentsMaintain professional registration and practise in accordance with the NMC codeContribute to the professional knowledge and competence of supervisors and assessors in practice and maintain appropriate record keeping using PARE

You will be line managed by the Undergraduate Education Manager for Practice Education. There may be cross working at time to support the wider team.There is the opportunity for flexible working with working from home arrangements and hot desk working within the trust environment.
