Job summary

We are looking for an exceptional Neonatal Ward Manager to lead our dedicated neonatal team, combining clinical excellence, compassionate leadership, and a passion for improving outcomes for babies and their families.

This is an opportunity to shape the future of neonatal care, whilst managing and inspiring a dedicated multi-disciplinary team

You will provide strategic and operational leadership to our Level 2 LocalNeonatal Unit, ensuring the delivery of safe, high -quality family- centred care for premature and critically ill newborns, through quality improvements and initiatives.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be a qualified in speciality neonatal nurse withexperienceat band 6 or above. You will have specialist clinical knowledge, communication and leadership skills and support the organisation in the delivery of the highest quality of care.

The post holder will manage all aspects of clinical standards and professional practice within the unit and will manage and coordinate staff budget resources and the environment. You will help shape the future of the service supporting the Matron, Deputy Head of Nursing and Head of Nursing .

The role will also require the individual to maintain clinical credibility. Shifts within the clinical rota, as agreed with the Matron, will provide opportunities to ensure clinical skills are maintained and offer visibility to the wider team.
