Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Ambulatory Wound Care Service.

We have various hours available dependant on the right candidate.

We are looking for some one who is passionate about wound care. Someone who works well in a team and on their own , who is flexible and adaptable and who strives to provide high quality care to patients in a clinical setting.

You will be working across all clinics in the CCICP footprint, use of a car is essential.

Main duties of the job

You will be required to carry out a variety of Health Care Assistant activities in the clinic environment. Be able to work without direct supervision under the direction of band 5 and 6 registered nurses.

Skills and knowledge of wound care, doppler assessments and leg ulcer are vital for the role, training will be given to further enhance any prior knowledge.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate good communication skills with patients , relatives and colleagues.

We will ensure a robust induction is provided and the appropriate training to meet your development needs to reach your potential.

Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team / agencies to ensure that patient needs are met.

Involve patients, relatives / carers in the delivery of care, providing reassurance and support to assist their understanding and co-operation.

Prepare the clinical area for safe practice by ensuring cleanliness is maintained, materials and equipment are ready for use, including clearing away afterwards.

Collect, collate and record information, maintaining accurate patient records are kept as per trust standards.

Participate in the delivery of patient care, following agreed plans , policies, pathways and procedures relevant to job role.

Recognise any changes in patients condition or wound , ensuring it is reported to the relevant staff in a timely manner.

To ensure stock in clinical areas is ordered to demand, stock is rotated and is stored appropriately.

Promote the individual needs of the patient, by acknowledging preferences, rights and choices, respecting privacy and dignity, and by promoting anti discriminatory practice, alerting senior staff if patient care appears to be disrespectful or discriminatory.

Establish and maintain effective communication, maintaining confidentiality of information.

Contribute to the effective management of risk , by accurate recording and reporting and correct maintenance of records and documentation.

Ensure compliance with Trust policies, procedures and clinical guidelines , alerting senior staff if practice of self and others appear to contravene policy , or if concerned about any aspect of patient care.
