Job summary

We have part time vacancies available in the Catering Department.

To work as a member of the Catering team and ensure that the provision of Catering Services to patients, visitors and staff is of the highest standard and quality.To ensure that Food Hygiene standards are adhered to and all necessary statutory requirements are met at all times

Main duties of the job

Ensure observance of Food Hygiene Legislation, Health and Safety Regulations and safe practices and procedures generally.To maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene as set out in the departmental Catering Policy and the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Policy.To understand and practice good food hygiene practices in accordance with food hygiene regulations. To assist in Food preparation and the service of both patient's, staff and visitors in both kitchen and retail outlets.Acting courteously and, ensuring all meals reach the Trust's standards of service and presentation within both patient and retail services. To correctly dispose of all waste streams e.g. food, cardboard, etc. following the instructions given by Supervisors/ Lead Chef regarding storage or disposal. Ensuring all crockery is clean and checked to the standards as determined by the policy and standards.To work within the retail units as and when required.The safe distribution of patient meals, meeting time deadlines to provide protected mealtimes. To undertake the picking of meals from frozen storage for patient's lunches and evening meals in relation to the cook/freeze patient meal service and Loading the picked meals into the Burlodge regeneration trollies, and monitoring cooking temperatures throughout the cooking cycle
