Job summary
Applications are invited for a Locum Consultant in the Respiratory Medicine Department at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful, motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join the team based at Leighton Hospital in Crewe. This post is covering inpatients, outpatients, Bronchoscopy and EBUS. and is for a fixed term period until 31.08.2026 due to Parental Leave.
Main duties of the job
The medical element of the Division consists of seven acute wards, which includes a Short Stay Unit, a fully equipped Coronary Care Unit, a dedicated Acute Stroke Unit and Stroke Rehabilitation ward and a Speciality Frailty Service. Furthermore, the Division also has an Acute Medical Unit, an Ambulatory Care Unit, a Planned Investigation Unit. A further 24 low dependency rehabilitation beds are available within Leighton Hospital. In addition the Emergency Department also reside within the Division.
Non-invasive ventilation is provided in the Emergency Department, the Respiratory ward and on the Critical Care Unit, as required.
The Trust is an accredited Trauma Unit and is part of the North West Midlands and North Wales Trauma Network and work very closely with our nearest designated Trauma Centre at the Royal Stoke University Hospital. In addition, there are excellent links with the Royal Stoke University Hospital to provide hyper-acute stroke care, early in-patient angiography, coronary intervention and pacemaker implantation.
The successful applicant must have full registration with the GMC and continue to hold a Licence to Practise. The applicant must also be on the Specialist Register or be within six months of obtaining their Certificate of Completion of Training in Respiratoty Medicine
