Deputy Named Midwife for Safeguarding

Job summary

We are looking for an experienced midwife with a passion for providing care to our most vulnerable families.

The role of deputy Named Midwife for safeguarding supports the statutory duties of the Named Midwife and is the primary point of contact for professionals to raise concerns. You will work within and support the line management of the Olive Team and maintain a small clinical caseload of families, triage referrals and develop and implement plans of care for families meeting safeguarding criteria.

Main duties of the job

Duties will include but not be limited to

Support the line management of the Olive Team (safeguarding Midwives and MSW)

Deputise for the Named Midwife for Safeguarding

Provide safeguarding supervision where appropriate

Maintain a small caseload of families who meet the criteria for the Olive Team

Develop and implement plans of care for women who meet the criteria for safeguarding children

Triage Maternity Safeguarding referrals and ensure that families are receiving effective care and appropriate levels of support in partnership with the Local Authority and other partner agencies
