Job summary

We are looking for a Dietetic Assistant to join our friendly, proactive dietetic service with an excellent reputation for our work in both the acute and community setting.

Main duties of the job

Following training and achievement of competencies you will assist dietitians with the assessment, treatment and monitoring of ward patients. This will include taking anthropometric measurements, dietary histories and supporting dietary planning.

You will liaise with catering and ward staff to ensure patients receive the correct therapeutic diets, snacks and nutritional supplements accordingto their nutritional care plan.

The role involves supervised care of a selected patient caseload requiring good written and verbal communication skills and self-motivation froma team player. You will also support our administrative team requiring developed organisational and IT skills.The post holder will be involved in ongoing patient education for the cardiac rehabilitation services in the community.

The department encourages innovation and supports continuous professional development. The post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring service check.

About us

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) provides good quality, safe and effective healthcare to the people of Cheshire and beyond. The Trust, which manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford, was established as an NHS Trust in April 1991 and became a Foundation Trust in April 2008.
