Job summary
We are looking for a theatre scheduler to work within the Obstetrics & Gynaecology department to manage the scheduling process for maternity elective theatres.
You will need excellent organisational abilities to succeed in this role and the ability to liaise confidently with colleagues and patients to ensure clear and effective communication.
Strong IT skills are essential, along with experience of working in a pressurised environment. Experience of using electronic patient record systems would be advantageous.
You will be required to work autonomously in this role, prioritising your own workload to ensure deadlines are met. In doing so, you will closely with the midwifery and medical staff, the operational management team and the Theatre Lead for maternity.
This is a part-time role for 15 hours per week and there will be opportunity to work these hours flexibly over three core days Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Main duties of the job
To proactively manage the efficient scheduling of Elective Caesarean Sections within Maternity. The main responsibility will be scheduling patients onto the appropriate Maternity theatre lists, and liaising with the patient.
The post holder will be required to work with minimal supervision and have the ability to exercise sound judgement and will be required to use decision making skills.

3.The post holder will be expected to meet at least weekly with consultants to review waiting lists and theatre utilisation.
