Job summary
An exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team as Senior Service Manager for the Emergency Department within the Division of Medicine and Emergency Care. The role provides operational and managerial responsibility for defined services and allocated resources. This involves working in partnership with other Service Managers, Clinical Leads and other management and professional/clinical leads.
Working as a key part of the management team, promote effective governance ensuring that the highest standards of clinical care and performance are delivered and that all clinical and non-clinical performance indicators, access standards and objectives are met, in line with the Trust's Operational Plan and long-term strategy.
There will be a particular focus on the performance improvement of urgent and emergency care in the Trust and across the Cheshire system.
Support and provide strong leadership across the Division to ensure that staff are supported to deliver the best care and patient experience by putting patients and their families first and make the organisation the best place to work in the NHS by prioritising the health, wellbeing and development of people.
Main duties of the job
Work in conjunction with the Divisional Director:
1. To align the objectives of the Division with the specific service lines under the portfolio of this postholder to ensure overall deliverability and for the postholder to take ownership at service level.
2. The translation of service strategy into robust management, financial and business planning activities across the Division and at service level with the support and advice of other managers and clinicians.
3. Ensuring service policy developments are in line with national directives and local frameworks.
