To support the growing cardiac CT service at MCHFT anexciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Specialised Cardiac CT Radiographer to work within the Cardiac CT service at MCHFT.
If you are a dynamic, enthusiastic, CT Radiographer, eager to develop your specialist knowledge and skills, this is an exciting opportunity to work within a rapidly growing service alongside a friendly, hard-working, ambitious and highly skilled team of Radiographers.
You will be working as a member of the Cardiac Imaging team, undertaking tasks including betablocking and specialist CT examinations under the leadership of the Cardiac Lead Radiographer.
As part of this fast paced and exciting role, bring life-changing and often life-saving diagnosis and treatment to patients from the Cheshire and Mersey region.
Main duties of the job
The Cardiac Specialist radiographer will:
- Work with Radiologists, Cardiac Lead Radiographer and Cardiologist involved in cardiac imaging to envision the best ways to fully utilise radiographers within their scope of practice.
- Have high level of cardiac CT knowledge and understanding and actively pursue learning experiences to further expand this.
- Work with CT Lead Radiographer to build new training regimen for CT radiographer to perform cardiac CT more autonomously.
- Lead CT radiographers in autonomous cardiac CT image acquisition
- Work with pharmacy and cardiology to build protocols for radiographer administration of IV beta blockers
- Lead a service of IV beta blocker administration.
- Present audit and research data to peers within the organisation and to a wider forum.

Demonstrate expertise in CT and uphold high imaging standards.

Assist the Cardiac lead to lead the Cardiac CT service, including beta-blocking, GTN administration, and image acquisition.

Accurately interpret radiology referrals and position patients for diagnostic imaging.

Review and ensure the quality of images, considering supplementary procedures.

Conduct CT imaging following standards and protocols while prioritizing patient care.

Maintain anatomical knowledge and use judgment in image interpretation.

Master post-processing techniques, such as Heartflow specialist software.

Manage Soliton & PACS information systems data.

Control access within the CT area and assist in scheduling appointments.

Deputize for the Lead CT Radiographer when needed.
