Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our amazing corporate team at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS FT. In this pivotal role, you will provide strong leadership to the Corporate Governance, Risk & Assurance Team, responsible for delivery of best corporate governance practice and the Trust's Risk Management Policy/Risk Management Framework.

You will have an in-depth professional knowledge of corporate governance structures, procedures and practice in relation to the health and social care sector and, ideally, have experience of governance in system working. You will use this knowledge to support the interaction between the Board of Directors and the Council of Governors and across the different Board Committees and contribute to ensuring actions from these are followed through. You will also lead on the development of arrangements for the Council of Governors, including managing the Membership Office, ensuring that it fulfills its statutory responsibilities.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on and self-motivated individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to join our dynamic team. You will be required to liaise closely and effectively with internal colleagues as well as with external partners in order to deliver a range of functions including supporting key corporate meetings, risk management and managing conflicts of interest.

The Trust provides good quality, safe and effective healthcare to the people of Cheshire and beyond., which manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford, was established as an NHS Trust in April 1991 and became a Foundation Trust in April 2008.

We employ almost 5,500 members of staff, provide around 540 hospital beds, with a range of services including accident and emergency, maternity, outpatients, therapies, and children's health.

The Trust is also part of Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership (CCICP), a unique local health partnership that provides a range of community services for people across South Cheshire and Vale Royal.

  • Experience of working with and influencing senior staff, and of providing credible advice to colleagues
