Job summary

The post holder will be the professional lead responsible for providing day-to-day clinical leadership to the echocardiography team, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality service across all Trust sites.Working in conjunction with the service manager to align processes/protocols across the echo service, as well as quality assurance and the development of sub-speciality services.

Main duties of the job

Provide day to day clinical management and supervision of staff within the Echo team ensuring internal and external targets are monitored and delivered.Have a high degree of personal and professional autonomy. Can make clinical judgments and critical decisions of the highest order, using knowledge, skills, and experience.

To exercise personal responsibility and demonstrate highly complex decision-making skills in unpredictable situations; adapting quickly to changes in service, patients and/or departmental need.To work closely with the Cardio Respiratory and Vascular Diagnostics Service Manager in developing capacity and demand plans and service development requirements for echocardiology services,identifying workforce and equipment requirements in a timely manner to ensure capacity is maximised and maintained at all times.
