Job summary
Mid-Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) is an integrated acute and community foundation trust in the North West of England. As an integral part of the Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care System, MCHFT is currently undergoing an exciting phase of transformation. Our focus is on continuous improvement and innovation, including implementing a new digital clinical system in 2024, a dynamic clinical strategy and the replacement of Leighton Hospital with a state-of-the-art Healthcare Campus, following our inclusion in the Government's New Hospital Programme
Main duties of the job
With our current Chief Financial Officer having stepped up to lead the New Hospital Build programme, we are actively seeking a skilled professional to assume the role of Chief Finance Officer on our Board of Directors and Executive Team. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in steering our organisation through these challenging but exciting times. While the Chief Financial Officer will hold specific responsibilities for financial management, financial control, and estates and facilities, and will be the SIRO within the Trust, we expect all directors to actively engage and contribute to our broader corporate strategy. Additionally, the Chief Financial Officer will serve as a key liaison point between MCHT and our local and system partners.
The incumbent will contribute significantly to the financial sustainability of the Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care System, fostering collaborative partnerships working across the system. Their contributions will be instrumental in realising our organisational ambitions and executing the broader locality plan successfully.

We have played, and continue to play, a proactive role in the development of Integrated Care plans across Cheshire & Merseyside and our local Cheshire East and Cheshire West Place-based systems. We believe, and it is the cornerstone of our five-year Trust Strategy, there is the opportunity to progress innovative, responsive and effective care in the best setting for the patient, be it in the hospital or out in the community.
This is a time of great change for our organisation and our new Chief Finance Officer will be a critical leader on the journey.
