Job summary

The Treatment Centre at Leighton Hospital prides itself on providing high quality standards of care and is JAG Accredited and an approved Bowel Cancer Screening Centre.

The department currently operates 5 procedure rooms with modern airy patient areas at the Leighton site.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dedicated, and motivated colleague, to work closely with the Endoscopy Pre Assessment team and the Endoscopy Scheduling team, performing administration duties based in The Treatment Centre at our Leighton Hospital Site.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills who possesses a confident and pleasant manner dealing with people over the telephone and face to face.

Excellent organisational skills, as well as a keen eye for detail and an ability to multitask are vital in this varied and busy role.

  • Use analytical and judgment skills to research, prepare and supply information to support service delivery, including collating and reviewing information from various sources e.g. (from The Trust systems) PCS, PTL`s looking at capacity demand patterns, ensuring that all information and documentation is produced to expected standards of performance, and according to agreed timescales.
  • Assist in the preparation and implement action plans to prevent breaches of targets within agreed perimeters contained in local guidelines, ensuring that all the required information is accurate and available, and that the senior management team/others are briefed on any difficulties, problems or issues.
  • Be conversant with required electronic systems for recording, retrieval and maintenance of information.
  • To work alongside the Pre-Operative Assessment (POAC) and Endoscopy Scheduling Teams.

The post holder will work directly and indirectly with patients and their carers by providing relevant information regarding their appointment for an endoscopic procedure in the Treatment Centre, along with information on bowel preparation pre-procedure.

The post holder will schedule appointments for a pre-operative assessment (POAC) if they identify that the patient needs an appointment; this is identified by the digital pre-assessment app. The post holder will inform the Scheduling Team if the patient is unable to attend on their allocated date and rebook an alternative date with the patient.
