Job summary

Mid Cheshire NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to recruit a Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join our team on a fixed term contract to support the implementation of our new digital clinical system (DCS), MEDITECH Expanse.

Working in a friendly and welcoming environment, we are looking for someone who enjoys a challenge and who will thrive in the fast-paced project environment. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and have experience of SQL, data manipulation, and data visualisation applications such as Power BI and SSRS. Knowledge of NHS data would be an advantage.

This is a full-time fixed-term post until March 2025. Applications requesting flexible working hours or locations would be considered.

Main duties of the job

Reporting to the Lead BI Developer, you will play a key role in the DCS project by supporting the Development team deliver the overall reporting requirements of the project. This will include:

  • Leading on designated list of reports and project workstreams, updating project plan and stakeholders
  • Working with the DCS project team to build understanding of the MEDITECH Expanse solution
  • Working with stakeholders and operational staff for requirement gathering and report design
  • Review the current report usage and identify reports for decommissioning or consolidating
  • Update and maintain the current report register and associated documentation
  • Work closely with the Data Warehouse and Analyst teams for delivery of data requirements ensuring reports are built using good design principles

The Trust, which manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford, was established as an NHS Trust in April 1991 and became a Foundation Trust in April 2008.
