Job summary

An exciting permanent opportunity has arisen within Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership(CCICP) Musculoskeletal Clinical Assessment and Triage Service (MCATS) for an AdvancedMusculoskeletal (MSK) Practitioner(s) to join our team.

In 2018 the service received investment to launch an MSK Single Point of Access (SPA) for Central Cheshire. The MSK SPA triages GP referrals to Orthopaedic, Rheumatology and Pain consultants. MCATS work closely with Consultant, GP, Nursing and AHP colleagues supporting patient pathways to ensure the patients receive the right care first time. The impact of the work has gained a nomination for the national HSJ award for community and Primary care service redesign

The post requires flexible working within MCATS community clinics for an MSK cohort of patients or developing areas to support increased access to MSK services.

The posts available are full or part time to cover the South & Vale Royal Primary Care locations in the Central Cheshire Footprint. You will be expected to work as part of a team with other Advanced MSK Practitioners, GP with Specialist interest in MSK and Advanced Clinical Specialist therapists to support the advancing MSK service, ensure robust evidence based clinical practice is disseminated throughout.

The post is Band 8A. We welcome suitable applicants, aspiring to Advanced MSK Practice but not yet fully meeting the job description, ready to progress within a training/developmental post, working towards Band 8A.

Main duties of the job

The post requires highly specialist triage, assessment and treatment skills to manage complex Musculoskeletal cases, including acute or chronic conditions. You will be expected to have a broad range of advanced practice knowledge and skills to incorporate the medical management of MSK patients and early identification of serious pathology. Evidence from your application must include relevant experience and post-graduate training.

The post holder must have the ability to converse with service managers, consultants and GP's to support links with these services and promote the service in a positive manner. They will also beexpected to support with implementing innovative, efficient and effective ways of working within thearea of MSK conditions.
