Advanced Clinical Practitioner - Crisis Care Service to join the Crisis care Team.

Band 8a - permanent, full time hours

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a Advanced Clinical Practitionerto join our Home Based Treatment and Intensive Support Teams.

The post-holder will:

  • provide leadership in relation to clinical operational issues in respect of the Crisis Care, Home Based Treatment and Intensive Support Teams, and will demonstrate substantial clinical leadership, innovation and independence in a professional context and have the ability to problem solve.
  • provide highly specialised mental health assessment and short term therapeutic interventions for children and young people experiencing mental health crisis.
  • have clinical responsibility for complex therapeutic and risk management work with children and young people who are at risk of needing care away from their homes or local community.
  • offer advice and consultation to other professionals across a range of agencies including: primary care, social care, and education.
  • provide supervision to team members.
  • be responsible for the care planning of interventions and have oversight of the delivery of the care plans by junior staff.

About us

In April 2020, the Crisis Care team moved rapidly to a 24hr service to provide support for Children, Young People and families experiencing Mental Health Crisis in Sefton and Liverpool.

The Crisis Care Team operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week and comprises of Psychiatry, Clinical Psychology, Psychotherapy, Nursing, Social Workers, Keyworkers and Assistant Psychologists to provide 24hr urgent response and assessment to children and young people who are experiencing mental health crisis, as well support to parents/carers, and consultation to other professionals involved in their care.

The Home Based Treatment and Intensive Support Team are new services,co-located with our Crisis Care Team. We offer home based support to children, young people and their families throughout Liverpool and Sefton. The main base for this post will be Alder Hey, but the post-holder will work throughout the Liverpool and Sefton footprint. These services operate 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week.

Please note: The successful candidates will be required to work Monday to Friday; weekend and nights are not required in this post.

Essential

  • Qualified in core profession (nursing, OT, SW, Psychologist) with appropriate registration
  • Intermediate or diploma level in a recognised therapeutic modality.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Evidence of substantial post qualification competence, incorporating significant experience working within CAMHS at a senior level
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience of providing consultation/teaching/ training
  • Experience of working with children and young people with ASD and/or LD - and their families and carers

  • Experience of leading on developing, delivering and evaluating evidence based clinical care packages.
  • MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice.
