This post offers a unique opportunity for a physiotherapist to work on a limited rotation across respiratory services, medicals and community, providing assessment and intervention to meet children and young people's neurological and respiratory needs in acute and community settings. There may be the opportunity for other relevant acute experiences. There is an expectation to become a member of the respiratory on-call rota with appropriate competencies and training.
We are keen to recruit a highly motivated member of staff with a developed interest in paediatric care.
You will be joining a well-established and experienced team of senior and specialists therapists who will provide support, clinical supervision and training and you will work as part of innovative multidisciplinary teams.
Staff are supported in their professional development through a programme of in-service training and opportunities to participate in internal and external training schemes.
Main duties of the job
To act as an autonomous practitioner within a specialised paediatric physiotherapy and occupational therapy service, working in a responsive and flexible pattern providing physiotherapy assessment and treatment to children in a range of settings: hospital in and out-patients, schools, nurseries, the home.
For patients with complex disabilities or long-term respiratory conditions, this will include the development of comprehensive physiotherapy care plans in addition to delivering the training component to families, carers and other staff. There will also be training to be organised and delivered to external companies to help support CYP under their care.
To be innovative and support the clinical leads in the development of services and to help prevent hospital admission, facilitate early discharge, improve patient's quality of life, consider the holistic needs of individuals and enhance services.
The post holder will identify, co-ordinate and undertake CPD whilst contributing to clinical audit, research projects, multidisciplinary and multiagency meetings and training.
