Mental Health Practitioner - Eating Disorder Team
37.5hrs per week, permanent post
The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary Eating Disorder team across Liverpool and Sefton. They will work to engage children, young people and their families in the therapeutic process, supporting the assessment and implementation, under the supervision of an experienced clinicians.
The post holder will be expected to liaise with external agencies including health, education, social care and the voluntary sector and act as a named key worker to children, young people and families accessing the services. Under supervision the post holder will carry out effective and evaluated assessments in line with their own knowledge base and the trust's policies and procedures.
The post holder will also be responsible for enabling effective and meaningful service user participation in the design and delivery of our services through individual and group engagement, facilitation of events/focus groups, supporting the wider CAMHS participation agenda and that of Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust.
The post holder will have the ability to self-reflect and be aware to work within their job remit. They will also attend team meetings, regular supervision and will be willing to joint work cases with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job

- Working as a member of an integrated multi-disciplinary team providing comprehensive assessment of children, young people and families. Planning, implementing and evaluating interventions to address identified needs.
- Acting as case manager for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems.
- Delivering evidence-based interventions in a group format alongside or under supervision of senior practitioners.
- Monitoring risk and supporting children and young people
- Promoting the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.
- Adhering to Trust policies and procedures and the legislative framework in which children's mental health care is delivered.

This is an exciting opportunity for a mental health practitioner to join the Eating Disorder Service at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust. The mental health practitioner will be a member of the specialist, multi-disciplinary service and will be supported through supervision by a senior member of the team on a regular basis. The post holder will provide a range of appropriate, evidence based clinical interventions informed by assessed individual need.
