Job summary
- This post is for 1 WTE working across two services they are the Tier 4 Inpatient Unit Sunflower House and the Liverpool Enhanced Support Team (LEST)
- Liverpool Enhanced Support Team is part of the North Mersey Region vanguard site implementing NHS England Integrated Care Framework (Community). The Team is a branch of CAMHS integrated with Children's Social Care working with young people who present with high-risk behaviours, high harm behaviours and high vulnerability understood in the context of trauma and adversity.
- The post holder will require significant knowledge of children and young people who present with complex needs and high risk and have an experience in managing complex multi-agency relationships.
- Responsibilities of the post holder includes professional/system consultation, case formulation, trauma informed interventions, reflective practice sessions for external practitioners the Team is integrated with, development and delivery of trauma informed training, service evaluation and audit etc.
- Sunflower House is a part of Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust (AHCNFT) and sits within the division of Community and Mental Health services. It has recently moved to a new state of the art building within the main hospital site.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder will offer a psychoanalytic perspective to the work of Sunflower House (SFH), Tier 4 inpatient unit for children (6-13) and the LEST service.
- Providing a specialist child psychoanalytic psychotherapy service to children and their parents or carers who are inpatients or day-patients at Sunflower House.
- The post-holder will also provide a time limited post-discharge follow-up psychoanalytic psychotherapy service if appropriate.
- To offer advice, guidance, and consultation to external professionals regarding children/young people's emotional wellbeing and mental health.
- To undertake risk assessment and management for individual children/young people and to provide advice for other professionals on aspects of risk assessment and management in relation to the role.
- To develop and maintain relationships with professionals across health, social care, education and voluntary/charitable sectors.
- To provide service and clinical supervision to colleagues in the MDT and nursing team.
- To produce timely reports for Inpatient Multi Agency Reviews (IMAR).
- To lead the development of/run psychodynamic orientated parent or children's group.
- To provide clinical supervision to a defined staff group and trainees as agreed with the clinical service lead, including psychodynamic informed reflective practice groups.
