Job summary
An exciting opportunity has become available within the integrated Alder Hey and Liverpool Heart and Chest iDigital Service for an Analytics Lead. The role will primarily be based at Alder Hey Children's hospital with potential integration in the future.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Analytics Lead to lead the information team at Alder Hey providing the trust with the best analytics and informatics support. The role will be a key part of the performance of the organisation supporting all departments by providing accurate, up to date and insightful data. The role will be central to leading the trusts continued transition to Power BI and unlocking the full potential of the wider analytical platform.
With state of the art offices at Liverpool Innovation Park the team operate Agile working, providing you the flexibility to work from home and flexible working times.
This is an exciting time to join the team and this role will have chance to influence and assist in moving the digital agenda forward at pace.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic informatics professional. The role will require in depth analytical skills along with excellent technical abilities in the Microsoft BI stack such as SSRS/Power BI. The role will have require excellent interpersonal skills and be able to support and influence stakeholders.
Working as an integral member of the integrated Team, the post holder will be responsible for the delivery of a high quality information and analysis service over a wide and varied agenda to the Trust. They will prioritise and manage the delivery of information and lead on key areas where they have attained specialist knowledge and experience.

Job Summary:
The post holder will:-
- Responsible for the day to day line management and development of the Analytics team and its relationship with internal and external departments.
- Responsible for the development of patient based information analysis service to support performance management. This will include ability to develop and implement information solutions and reporting systems in response to the changing performance agenda
- Manage the provision of accurate, appropriate and timely patient based information using highly complex data sets to support service delivery. This includes the provision of statutory reporting, and performance monitoring to feed into local, organizational and performance frameworks
- Provide specialist knowledge and advice on all aspects of patient based data, provide an expert advice and interpretation service This includes the ability to present complex data to a variety of audiences.
- The post holder will be required to work in conjunction with the Data Warehouse & BI Solutions Manager to support the development of the Trusts Data Warehouse solution ensuring the delivery of a cohesive, effective business intelligence tool.

Information Systems
To play a lead role in the development of Trust information systems for the capture and interpretation of hospital patient based performance information. E.g. KPIs , Performance Assessment Framework, Corporate Report, etc and ensure that key targets are met.
To develop and maintain PAS reporting functionality that ensures the provision of accurate and timely performance information. This will include working with the Clinical Systems team to implement ISBs and other national changes with regard to collection of patient data.
To proactively plan, develop and improve new and existing databases, datasets and reports to meet organizational needs and changing performance targets. This will include working with service users to identify and clarify their information requirements and providing expert advice and guidance as appropriate.
To proactively work with clinical and non clinical staff to identify information requirements, manage provision of new reporting systems, and to resolve data quality issues.
To employ and support the teams use of SQL and other BI tools as appropriate, in order to produce presentations of accurate and timely information which is fit for purpose and meaningful to colleagues.

Performance Monitoring
To define, extract, collate, analyse, interpret and communicate highly complex information on patient activity across a wide range of performance indicators to support evidence based decision making and performance monitoring at local, operational and strategic level.
To actively contribute to development and modernisation projects; including the Trust's Outline Business Case and Rapid Improvement Programme.
