The post holder will work practically within their clinical area/team, taking responsibility for the provision of play on a day-to-day basis.
The post holder will be expected to work closely with the Senior Health Play Specialist and Play Specialist to ensure that service provision meets service needs.
To support and facilitate high quality individualised/group play with patients in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team and Healthcare Play Specialist's.
To be responsible for acting in such a manner as to uphold and enhance the good standard and reputation of Play services.
To be responsible for the daily planning, organisation and delivery of play.
As a member of the play service you will be responsible for the promotion of play for the play department of varying age ranges
You must be able to work flexibly within the team and provide general play support where need be

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Play Assistant to join our Therapeutic and Specialised Play Service at Alder Hey Specialist Children's Hospital within the High Dependency Unit department. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and have the ability to support others. The Play Leader will be based within ward/department teams and be line managed through the Therapeutic & Specialised Play Services.
