To work as part of a large team who provide a Medical Transcription Service to 35 specialties within the organisation.
Requirement of excellent typing skills and a good knowledge of medical terminology
Requirement to use various systems such as Medisec, Meditech, Image Now is desirable but not essential as fully training will be provided
Main duties of the job
The purpose of this post is to provide a comprehensive professional transcribing service to an excellent standard, ensuring a high level of accuracy to the Trust. The clinical transcriptionist is expected to work closely with a speciality and its typing requirements when necessary but could be used as a resource for other areas within the Trust as a whole during periods of absence.

The post holder should have a good working knowledge of medical terminology and a willingness to learn medical terminology in relation to the specialty to which appointed. Training will be provided to enable the clinical transcriptionist to support different specialities across the Trust.
