An opportunity has arisen for a caring and motivated staff nurse to join our Outpatients team. This is an exciting time,as we grow our team and expand ourservices, both in thehospital and the community settings.Our Outpatient Department is located across three floors on the main Alder Hey site with Community Outpatients in the new Catkin Centre and also at off-site clinics.
We are seekinga professional role model who will have experience of working with children, young people and families in a clinical environment. You will be responsible for co-ordinating the smooth running of clinics and supporting Clinicians, patients and families, with a level of autonomy relevant to your role.
You must possess excellent communication skills, be well organised and have a willingness to learn new skills and knowledge, however an induction programme is offered with support from the Practice Educator and wider leadership team.
Working hours will be 28.5hrs(8-6 x 3 days) Mon- Fri, with a flexible working pattern to support the needs of the service.

Role Summary: The post holder carries responsibility and accountability for the health care management of their patient group, in collaboration with senior nurses and Team Leaders. The band 5 staff nurse will be responsible for assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating family centred programmes of care.

- Participate in relevant departmental meetings and represent the department at Trust wide meetings when appropriate, disseminating information as appropriate.
- Act in a way to promote confidentiality, dignity and trust of patients, parents, carers and other staff members.

4. Training/Education/ Research
- To support the induction of new members of staff with a period of preceptorship and to participate in the mentorship of students and to supervise and teach others.
- Update personal knowledge and skills by attending and participating in study days, conferences and in-service training, including mandatory training sessions to comply with trust and departmental requirements. Achieve personal training needs identified through a yearly personal professional review with your manager.
