An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 12-month secondment

(Monday -Friday 9am-5pm) as a band 6 Safeguarding Nurse covering patients of Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital.

Applicants must be a registered nurse with experience of working clinically with vulnerable people

Main duties of the job

The role will provide the post holder with the opportunity to develop key safeguarding skills

Safeguarding protects a citizen's health and wellbeing; enabling them to live free from harm, abuse and neglect and is integral to providing high-quality health care (NHS England).

Ensuring that our workforce is equipped to recognise and respond appropriately and proportionately to abuse, and neglect is a key responsibility of this role.

  • Relevant Professional Qualification- RGN
  • Current registration with Appropriate body
  • Evidence of Professional Update including Safeguarding Update

  • Graduate qualification or demonstrable consolidated experience that equates to degree level knowledge
  • Teaching Qualification

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Significant / current experience in healthcare with adults, children, or young people, working across a complex and diverse workforce
  • Demonstrable experience and practice in safeguarding ? Proven ability to analyse problems and to develop successful outcomes / solutions adhering to agreed Policies and Procedures
  • Evidence of ability to manage clinical cases with highly sensitive situations

Desirable

  • Previous experience in hospital setting
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering training and education packages to a range of professionals across organisational and professional boundaries / multi-agency care providers

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
