Job summary

Booking of remote device clinics within cardiac diagnostics to ensure the efficient administration of the remote services within the unit.

Main duties of the job

To work as part of a team to ensure the efficient administration of the remote services within cardiac diagnostics.

To work closely with the physiologists to ensure the remote diagnostic clinics are booked correctly, should understand the management of waiting lists and ensure they are used appropriately (OWL and FOWL)

Job responsibilities

Clerical

  • Provide support to the cardiac diagnostics admin team.
  • Accurate recording and forwarding of messages to the relevant members of technical staff.
  • Booking of remote diagnostic tests including device clinics and ZIO heart monitors
  • Appropriate management of patients using the diagnostic waiting list (CDIAG)
  • Competent within managing patients through the OWL and FOWL waiting lists.
  • Carrying out any other duties deemed appropriate for band 2 administrator.

Professional

  • To maintain personal and professional development through the trusts personal development planning process. To undertake relevant training / workshop sessions as identified on performance review for continuing professional development.
  • To be aware of own training needs in line with the development of the administration systems.
  • To undertake mandatory training in line with departmental and Trust policies.
  • Ensure that confidentiality is always maintained.

Quality

  • Escalate any urgent queries in the appropriate manner.
  • Report to their line managers any identified actions to ensure Health and Safety protocols are adhered to.
  • Ensures that confidentiality of patients records is strictly maintained and complies with the Data Protection Act.
  • Ensure accidents/incidents are reported and recorded.

Organisational

  • Ensures good communication within the department.
  • Actively promotes the Diagnostic Diagnostics department, inside and outside the trust.
  • Contributes and adheres to department and trust policies & procedures.
  • Recognise peoples equality, diversity, and rights.
  • Feedback information on complaints / accidents / incidents to the line manager.
  • Communicates well with other departments involved in supporting the service. (i.e. medical secretaries, domestics, porters, etc.)
