Job summary

We are inviting internal applications to the position of Rotational Band 6 Physiotherapist, within Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Foundation Trust for a period of 12 months to support with maternity secondment cover.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop band 6 skills and experience within the physiotherapy teams. We offer nine-month rotations in medicals, cystic fibrosis, pulmonary rehabilitation, complex rehabilitation, and surgery including critical care with therapy services provided across a range of settings including in the community.

Main duties of the job

The role is ideally suited to an individual with an interest in cardiovascular and respiratory therapy. A proven ability to provide supervision and participation in the development of services would beneficial. Experienced band 5's with a desire to progress into a band 6 role are welcome to apply and will be fully supported once in post. We offer internal and external training opportunities and close working with highly skilled senior therapists.

The department has a growing cohort of support workers and band 5 therapists, we regularly host students across all therapy teams and have a strong working partnership with our exercise physiology colleagues and multi-disciplinary colleagues across the trust. We are a fun and welcoming team, holding monthly cake days, regular social events and trust driven wellbeing initiatives, all of which will help you to settle into the team quickly and build working relationships.

Essential

  • Diploma/Degree/MSc in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC Registration

Desirable

  • MemMembership of relevant clinical interest group ber of relevant clinical interest group

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Evidence of recent and relevant CPD including attendance at courses relevant to respiratory +/or stroke and rehabilitation physiotherapy
  • Good clinical reasoning skills based on evidence and current research
  • Evidence of attendance at mandatory training
  • Demonstrate a good knowledge of the MDT and their differing contributions to patient care
  • Experience of supervising staff
  • NHS or equivalent clinical experience

Desirable

  • Good IM & T Skills
  • Knowledge of airway clearance techniques such as AD, PEP, Acapella, Flutter, NIV

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to empathise and reassure
  • An ability to work as part of the MDT and communicate appropriately with all grades of staff.
  • Evidence of presentation and teaching skills within a healthcare environment
