Job summary
This post is for a substantive appointment of a Consultant Cardiologist with a special interest in invasive electrophysiology and Cardiac Devices. This is a new post. The appointee will be expected to be proficient in the management of all arrhythmia patients, ablation for SVT and AF, and the implantation and follow-up of all Cardiac Device patients.
Sub-speciality interests would be encouraged particularly in the areas of inherited cardiac conditions, adult congenital heart disease ablation or ablation of ventricular tachycardia.
Main duties of the job
The appointee will be expected to work flexibly to cover clinical sessions. Device and EP sessions may be performed as dual lists with established consultants.
There is an on-call commitment within this post on a 1 in 13 basis. This involves a week of category B on-call for EP and device issues.
