Job summary
The post holder will provide a flexible efficient administrative and reception service which will support the operational management of the ward. The post holder will work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families ensuring an efficient service is provided.
Main duties of the job
Provide a first point of contact reception service for the ward.
Act as a central point of reference for all internal and external queries.
Provide a robust filing system, ensuring all patient related documentation is stored in an appropriate manner.
Prepare patients documentation for all admissions, including printing off wristband labels.
Order stationary , clinical and non-clinical supplies via the Oracle system, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained.
Deal with IT problems.
Deal with estates and report problems.
When directed to do so, book ambulance transfers and liaise with NWAS, receiving hospitals and discharge team.
Book flights, liaising with patient transfer in the IOM.
Check discharge summary. Book the appointment with the correct consultant in the correct clinic.
Monitor and update ward information monitors
Check patients' details are all correct on PAS and in the case notes.
Telephone calls, relaying messages and dealing with patients' families.
Booking Interpreter through DA Languages
Assist with ward Audits. Complete Hand hygiene Audit twice a month.
Complete Friends & Family Test, patient surveys every day.
Responsible for ensuring patients cash & valuables are taken to the General Office listed and signed for.
