Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Operative to join the Estates Team at the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital on a part time basis.

This post is initially a 6 month position, over 3 days per week (flexible) with a potential of turning permanent.

Salary: £22,383 (PRO-RATA).

Actual Salary: Approx. £13,430

The successful applicant will become part of the Estates Maintenance team, carrying out day to day operational tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of the trusts buildings and provide ahigh standard of workmanship.

Job description

Job responsibilities

To provide a cost effective time and quality driven maintenance service to the Trust

Work as part of a multi-disciplinary professional team providing planned/reactive maintenance for the Trusts buildings.

To carry out semi-skilled plumbing duties to include repairing of radiator leaks, fractured pipes, unblocking of gutters and drains, as well as sinks and toilets, renewing of tap washers.

To carry out semi-skilled electrical duties to include replacement of light bulbs, fluorescent tubes and the cleaning of light fittings. Re-setting of clocks and Assist in the testing of Fire Alarms

To carry out semi-skilled carpentry and building work to include fitting of shelves, positioning and securing of notice boards, pictures, solving door lock and furniture problems, boarding up windows, tiling showers and bathrooms and general roof repairs and painting.

To carry out Portable appliance testing (after training) to trust assets.

To ensure prompt response to service users needs and to take a pro-active approach to its delivery.

To provide a high standard of professional workmanship and conduct in carrying out all duties particularly with regards to Trust plant and equipment.

Any other duties within the scope of the post as may be required from time to time.

Adhere to all Trust Policies and Procedures.

To undertake relevant and mandatory training.

To assist as required in taking and recording Hot water temperatures and undertake in flushing regimes

To assist with upkeep and visual condition of estate with decorating regime including painting.

Assist with the upkeep of the trusts grounds.
