Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a band 3 shift porter to join our great team.

Main duties of the job

Transport patients across the site using the appropriate equipment supplied (beds, trolleys, wheelchairs etc

Complete scheduled and on request blood collections

Changing, transporting and checking correct size medical gas bottles by adhering to all regulations and training issued

Record details when changing theatre nitrous gas cylinders in line with regulations and training issued

Respond to fire alerts as part of the fire team, if required assist with evacuation of patients, prevent visitors/patients entering fire alert zones and ensure fire brigade are meet and notified location of the fire alert.

Driving the Trust vehicle to collect all waste management including clinical, domestic, cardboard, and recycle waste

Collection and transportation of linen across the Trust, store appropriately

Maintain general tidiness on a daily basis of the reception areas and pathways leading into the Hospital

Job description

Record accurate details of duties performed on Ad hock sheets

Interact with patients in a professional, friendly and polite manner

On request deliver and collect sharp smart system in accordance with training provided

Experience

Essential

  • Full clean driving license

  • Ability to prioritise incidents based on dynamic risk
  • Ability to record duties performed and complete forms as and when required
  • Flexible approach to working
  • Able to work shifts over 24/7 period including bank holidays
  • Ability to prioritise duties and workload on shifts
