Job summary

This post is for 22.5 hours/week. Thursday and Friday cover is essential but remaining hours can be flexible. The successful candidate will become part of our small admin team within cardiac diagnostics. You will be required to answer telephone queries, book and change appointments along with other admin duties. You will work with a large team of physiologists and assistant physiologists, the support from the admin team is essential in the running of our busy diagnostic department.

Main duties of the job

To work as part of a team, contributing to the efficient running of the administration services within cardiac diagnostics. The department is busy and the work can be quite challenging so you should be able to work well under pressure.

It is essential that all administration tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner which requires high levels of concentration

Job description

Job responsibilities

Provide support to the cardiac diagnostics secretarial team

Accurate recording and forwarding of messages to the relevant members of technical staff.

Answering telephone queries from patients and hospital staff

Booking of all clinical tests including exercise tests

Forwarding the appropriate appointment letters to patients.

Forwarding DNA letters to appropriate consultants. Re appoint when required.

Ensure incoming and outgoing mail is processed effectively.

Maintain the departments supply of forms/letters

Keeping up to date with stationary requirements

Maintaining a filing system for test referral forms and letters

Carrying out any other duties deemed appropriate for the band
