Job summary

If so, then you could be the perfect addition to our team.

We are looking to recruit a positive, reliable, and motivated Speech and Language Therapist to join our team on a 0.8 wte (4 days per week) permanent contract. This is an exciting newly created position to support to our patients with swallowing and/or communication difficulties because of surgery, prolonged intubations, recurrent laryngeal nerve injuries, stroke, hypoxic brain injury etc. We help rehabilitate patients from critical care to home, using only evidenced based treatments and approaches. We lead an established FEES service and collaborate with our SALT colleagues at Liverpool University Foundation Hospitals to deliver a weekly videofluoroscopy clinic.

Main duties of the job

You will have the opportunity to support patients on critical care as well as on our surgical and medical wards. You will take a lead role in our stroke team, contributing to weekly MDT meetings, staff training and influencing stroke policies and guidelines. Due to the nature of our patients, it would be favourable if you had an interest in developing skills in instrumental swallowing assessments.
