Job summary
This post is for a Resident Clinical Fellow in Emergency Medicine.
This is a full-time post offering an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Medic to join a dynamic, rapidly expanding team delivering multidisciplinary acute care in Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.
The culture and behaviours in ED are well known to be grounded firmly on the principle that the workforce is the single most asset. This is demonstrated on a continuous basis by attitudes and behaviours which are supportive, helpful, non - blaming and friendly. The team approach is completely embedded in the department, and all staff are wholly focused on providing a fast and effective patient service.
Due to the short-term nature of the role/service demand, the successful candidate must hold full registration with the GMC and have existing right to live and work in the UK, at the time of application. Candidates who are not GMC registered or do not hold existing right to live and work in the UK, at the time of application will not progress through the shortlisting stage.
2 x Fixed Term 12 Months Full Time Positions (40 Hours)
Interview Date - To Be Confirmed

Resident Junior Clinical Fellows within the Emergency Department will be involved in delivering to direct clinical care in all areas of the department alongside Emergency Medicine, GP and Foundation Trainees. Successful candidates will also take an active role in the supervision and teaching of medical students and engage with ED audit and governance.

There will also be the allocation of non-clinical time for clinical fellows to engage with other aspects of the ED as well as develop other EM linked skills and work with affiliated teams. The post includes a study leave allowance and budget for educational courses.
This post would be ideal for candidates who are interested in a career in Emergency Medicine and who wish to apply for an ACCS programme next year. The role will provide broad coverage in line with the national curriculum and good training exposure. The senior team is keen to teach and experienced in providing guidance and supporting specialty applications.
