Job summary
This post is for a Resident Clinical Fellow in Geriatric Medicine. This is a whole time post offering an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Medic to join a dynamic, rapidly expanding team delivering multidisciplinary acute care in Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.
Due to the short-term nature of the role/service demand, the successful candidate must hold full registration with the GMC and have existing right to live and work in the UK, at the time of application.
Candidates who are not GMC registered or do not hold existingright to live and work in the UK, at the time of application will not progress through the shortlisting stage.
Main duties of the job
Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
Participate in the initial assessment and management of patients with the supervision of more experienced members of the team.
Liaise with other members of the clinical team and other specialties.
Advise FYP trainees and ANPs about management of patients.
Develop skills in managing the wards to avoid unnecessary patient delays and maintain good clinical care to all patients.
Professional Responsibilities
To participate in clinical audit and or quality improvement (QI) project.
To participate in continuing professional development.
Educational supervision will be provided.
To maintain a portfolio of training.
To comply with Trust policies and procedures, have (and maintain) GMC registration /licensing.
Administrative Responsibilities
To ensure good documentation and record keeping
To ensure all admin tasks including are complete within local Trust targets.

Specialist Regional Services
We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
