Job summary
We are looking for highly motivated, forward-thinking individual to become part of our committed team who work in the Cardio-Respiratory Department as a Senior Assistant Technical Officer.
You will be proficient in a range of investigations, performing ECG, Blood Gas analysis, Ambulatory Monitor Hook Up etc.
An Enhanced DBS with barred lists for both Adults & Children is required for this post.
The JD & PS are currently under AfC review and are subject to change
Main duties of the job
To assist with the provision of Cardio-Respiratory services throughout the Trust and partnership agencies and to ensure the delivery of a high standard, quality service in an extended role to that of a basic Cardiographer.
To ensure courtesy, privacy, confidentiality and respect at all times to patients, relatives, staff and colleagues.
The Cardio-Respiratory Department provides a high-quality service for all cardiac and respiratory diagnostic investigations. A 24/7 service is provided for basic investigations such as ECG and spirometry which is provided by Senior Cardiographers and Assistant Practitioners.
- You will have at least 6 months experience as a basic ATO within the cardiac or respiratory field during which you will have completed a basic in-service training programme.
- You will be aware of the full range of procedures provided by the department.
- You will undertake a wide range of work activities
- Participate in a 24hr shift system, work alone with the backup of on call Physiologist if necessary.
- Adhere strictly to all Department and Trust policies
- Maintain and promote a smart, professional image at all times.

Specialist Regional Services
We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
