Specialty Doctor in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Applications are invited for the role of Specialty Doctor within the Oral and Maxillofacial Department of Mersey & West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Operating from St Helens and Ormskirk Hospitals the service is a spoke of the Regional Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Hub based in Aintree who provide the Service's consultants.
This is a fixed term contract for an initial period of 12 months.
Main duties of the job
This post will support the delivery of the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery service by conducting outpatient clinics (including the management of 2ww referrals) and any required treatments within the oral surgery minor operating suite.
Applicants must have a Registerable Dental qualification and Full registration with the General Dental Council. MFDS /MJDFS or equivalent, with significant experience as a LAS or equivalent in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Registration as a Specialist in Oral Surgery with the General Dental Council or a formal qualification in conscious sedation are all desirable but not essential.

Our inpatient unit at Newton Community Hospital is where patients needing acute hospital beds can continue rehabilitation. We also provide urgent care at our Urgent Treatment Centre located in St Helens town centre.
Specialist Regional Services
We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
