Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to join the Trauma and Orthopaedic Therapy Service as Team Lead.
This role involves both clinical and operational responsibilities. The successful candidate will provide a high quality, evidence based therapy service to patients admitted to hospital on a trauma and/or orthopaedic pathway. This will include, but is not exclusive to, trauma, major trauma, elective surgery, fractured neck of femur and amputee patients.
The Team Leader will provide highly specialist Physiotherapy/ Occupational Therapist intervention for a caseload of Orthopaedic patients and and offer advanced clinical reasoning within the specialism to support complex decision making.
The Team Leader will be responsible fordeveloping, managing, planning and delivering the Trauma and Orthopaedic therapy service with support from the Clinical Lead and Clinical Therapy Manager.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a dynamic individual to lead the Trauma and Orthopaedic therapy team to provide clinical expertise and to deliver a high quality effective service in line with best practice.
The successful candidate will operationally manage the Trauma and Orthopaedic therapy service and clinically lead the team.
The Team Lead will have a clinical role; to receive referrals, undertake full assessment and independently plan individual, specialised, evidence-based, treatment programmes for patients using advanced clinical reasoning and a variety of highly specialist skills to rehabilitate and safely discharge their patients.
In addition, the Team Lead will have daily operational responsibility in managing a team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Assistant Practitioners and Therapy Assistants. In this realm you will be responsible for supervision, education and training and will have opportunity to develop the current service.
