This post is for a Senior Clinical Fellow in Burns & Plastics Surgery. This is a whole-time fixed term post offering an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Surgeon looking to progress their career in hand and upper limb surgery to join a dynamic, rapidly expanding team delivering multidisciplinary acute care in Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.
Main duties of the job
The principal purpose of the post is to provide an upper limb, trauma and general plastic surgical service to the population of Cheshire, Merseyside, West Lancashire, North Wales and the Isle of Man.
The post holder will play a full role in the management of the plastic surgery trauma workload, The role provides numerous opportunities for the successful candidate to enhance their clinical skills and have clinical exposure in a wide range of areas.
The Burns and Plastic surgery directorate is amongst the largest in the UK with 29 Consultant Plastic Surgeons. Duties will involve the full range of clinical, outpatient and operative experience.

Providing adult community services for St Helens and a wheelchair service in Chorley, South Ribble, and West Lancashire. Our inpatient unit at Newton Community Hospital is where patients needing acute hospital beds can continue rehabilitation. We also provide urgent care at our Urgent Treatment Centre located in St Helens town centre.
Specialist Regional Services
We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
