Job summary
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a motivated and dynamic Pharmacy Technician to join our busy Emergency Department (ED) Department Pharmacy team at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
The post holder will provide a clinical pharmacy service to ED patients at the Whiston Hospital site.
Main duties of the job
We're expanding the team to include a designated Pharmacy Technician to our already established pharmacy team. You will be embedded within the ED team to deliver direct medicines optimisation, supporting safe, effective, and timely care for patients from admission through to discharge. You will be part of an innovative team, supporting clinical pharmacy services right at the frontline of patient care.
Previous experience providing care to acutely unwell patients is essential. You will be expected to be a team player and have excellent communication skills. You will be encouraged to develop and implement ideas and drive the service forward.

Specialist Regional Services
We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
