Job summary
To provide a comprehensive administrative/secretarial service to the Oversea/Private Patient Department: necessitating contact with external bodies, clinical, nursing, management, executive and clerical staff. Dealing effectively and efficiently with processing of daily workloads and ad hoc office duties. The post holder will have a strong customer focus to ensure effective and professional operation of the service. There will be an element of out of hours work required so a degree of flexibility is essential.
2 vacancies - One 37.5 hour post available and one 15 hour post available
Main duties of the job
Supporting the Overseas/Private Admin Lead within the Surgical Care Directorate.
Ensure all patients enquiring about services are fully informed of the cost of prospective procedures and availability.
Provide comprehensive written quotes for treatment on request
Liaise with Private Insurance Companies to confirm authorization numbers obtained prior to booking patients in for appointment/admission.
Ensure all relevant patient documentation is available for Consultant to view prior to appointment.
Ensure the confidentiality and security of patients financial and personal information is maintained at all times.
Prioritise workload distributing/redirecting as necessary and within required deadlines.
Communicate and support all personnel and departments operationally with overseas and private patient requirements.
Ensure all patients receive appropriate documentation relating to admission/appointment and ensure hospital systems are updated.
Raise invoices in a timely manner.

Specialist Regional Services
We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
