Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking and motivated administrative assistant with excellent communication, organisational, timemanagement and attention to detail skills to join our existing Admin Team to support our very busy Integrated Discharge Team based at WhistonHospital.

The post will be based at Whiston Hospital. You will be working in a busy environment and closely with the remainder of the Admin Team.

Communication and customer care is key is this team. The post will be varied and a great opportunity to gain new skills and enhance your knowledge and experience by working within varies settings.

Main duties of the job

  • Receptions service for visitors, telephone callers and mail.
  • To ensure that all referrals (discharge notifications) are checked, recorded and inputted on appropriate databases/systems and ensure they are sent to appropriate areas.
  • To ensure that recording, processing and updating local authority systems is in line within their specific policies and procedures.
  • Updating sickness and absence procedures.
  • Stationery and equipment orders
  • Information and data processing and reporting
  • Maintaining patient/service user files
  • Updating care plans/assessments
  • Invoices
  • Minute taking
  • Updating Master Control Plan (patients who are medically optimised).
  • All other duties that are considered appropriate to the post.

We also provide urgent care at our Urgent Treatment Centre located in St Helens town centre.

Specialist Regional Services

We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
