Job summary
The Corporate Non-Medical Education Team are looking to recruit a Band 6 Clinical Educator who is as passionate and enthusiastic about education and training as much as we are.
We are keen to meet a highly motivated individual who will have the passion and tenacity to drive forward a number of key initiatives to support the development of our valuable workforce across Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching hospitals NHS Trust. The post holder will be based on the Southport and Ormskirk hospital sites with potential for flexible working across other Trust sites.
This role will require the successful applicant to lead and expand the delivery of clinical skills training to staff at Mersey and West Lancashire NHS Trust, so recent clinical experience would be an advantage. There will be opportunity for the successful applicant to link in with our wider Pre and Post Non-Medical Education Team to provide educational support and development. There will also be an opportunity to grow your educational portfolio by supporting the delivery of preceptorship to our early career professionals, ensuring the receive holistic support and development to begin a rewarding and fulfilling career within the NHS.
Main duties of the job
The post requires an individual who has exceptional interpersonal skills to work within a team and is self-directed to work autonomously.
The successful applicant will champion the Mersey and West Lancashire NHS Trust Preceptorship Programme, and identify innovative and creative approaches to best support our newly qualified practitioners transition into practice. This will require a dynamic individual to be actively involved in the creation and delivery of education and support across a variety of settings, and most importantly, is an inspirational role model to others. Your contribution towards an innovative developmental strategy to develop and retain our high potential staff will also be needed, so if you're a forward thinking and creative individual, we want to hear from you.
About us
Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust provides healthcare in hospital and the community to 258,000 people across Southport, Formby and West Lancashire.
Acute care is provided at Southport and Formby District General Hospital and Ormskirk District General Hospital. This includes adults' and children's accident and emergency services, intensive care and a range of medical and surgical specialities. Women's and children's services, including maternity, are provided at Ormskirk hospital.
The North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre at Southport hospital provides specialist care for spinal patients from across the North West, North Wales and the Isle of Man.
The Trust also provides sexual health services for the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton.
