Job summary

We are looking to recruit a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse for our fast-paced Accident & Emergency Department.

The role is a pivotal nursing position in the delivery of excellent standards of care through effective leadership and management and so we are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse with a high level of clinical competency in the acute setting, high quality leadership skills and proven experience to take on the challenge.

The applicant should be a dynamic and highly motivated individual, who will work closely and collaboratively with the established Multi-disciplinary team to deliver high quality, compassionate care to our patients.

This role, is based at Southport Hospital and gives the opportunity for a dynamic and highly motivated nurse to make a positive influence on the delivery of high quality care in an Accident & Emergency Department setting, under the supervision of Matron, Will Adams and Lead Nurse, Joanne Hazlehurst.

The post holder is required to have strong leadership and organisational skills, and be an exemplary role model, demonstrating good organisational and leadership skills within the acute setting.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support our senior nursing team, be responsible for providing leadership to the wider team, managing and co-ordinating the delivery of complex care in a variety of settings and circumstances, within the Accident & Emergency Department.

In addition the post holder will be required to manage delegated projects within the department to monitor and ensure the delivery of key priorities and compliance with quality and safety indicators.

The post holder will possess a broad and well developed knowledge base and will have the skills to communicate and provide expert nursing care, knowledge and support to the wider team.
