Consultant in ENT with Specialist interest in Head & Neck
This post is based at St Helens & Whiston sites.

You would become a highly valued member of our team, bringing your expertise and skills in ENT, particularly intermediate mouth, minor and major ear and major nose surgeries, to the team.

Main duties of the job
About the Role
We have 2 vacancies for ENT Consultants, which will be based at:
St Helens Hospital Site
- 1 x ENT Head and Neck Consultant
- 1 x ENT Consultant with experience in Otology (Please see separate advert reference 409-5503838 to apply)
Following induction, the post holder will be expected to participate in on-call provision, with a commitment of 1:4 on call rota for weekdays and evenings, and a 1:4 on-call rota for weekends covering at the St Helens & Whiston site.
As part of our commitment to delivering high quality, safe, sustainable ENT services for the communities we serve, our longer-term vision may also involve cross site working, with specific arrangements determined by future job plan reviews.
All applicants must hold full GMC registration and be on Specialist Register or within six months of obtaining their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview. CESR candidates must have written GMC confirmation of successful application. Applicants must also meet all eligibility criteria for the post.

- Applicants must have entry on the GMC Specialist Register via one of the following: 1) Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) (The proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview) 2) Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) (CESR candidates must have written GMC confirmation upon successful application)
- MB ChB or equivalent medical qualification
- FRCS (Head & Neck) or equivalent medical qualification
- Valid ATLS Provider Status or equivalent medical qualification
- Success in intercollegiate specialty examination or overseas equivalent
Desirable
- Postgraduate thesis or equivalent medical qualification

- Evidence of achievement of competencies by time of appointment in line with GMC standards/Good Medical Practice including: Good clinical care, maintaining good medical practice, good relationships and communication with patients, good working relationships with colleagues, good teaching and training, professional behaviour and probity and delivery of good acute clinical care.
