This post is for a 6 month Fixed Term Locum Consultant Cardiologist. This is a whole time post offering an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Medic to join a dynamic, rapidly expanding team delivering multidisciplinary acute care in Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.
This post is based on a whole time appointment (10 PAs).
Due to the short term nature of the role/service demand, the successful candidate must hold full registration with the GMC and have existing right to live and work in the UK, at the time of application. Candidates who are not GMC registered or do not hold existing right to live and work in the UK at the time of application will not progress through the shortlisting stage.
Main duties of the job
The work schedule will be based on a standard 40-hour contract of 10 programmed activities (PA's) whilst also supporting CESR (if required). The clinical timetable has been designed to attract the best candidates to this Trust. It is however; open to discussion and alteration with the aims of being in the best interests of the service and meeting individual needs. The work schedule will include 7.5 PA's for direct patient care.
The post holder will act as educational and/or clinical supervisor for one or two junior medical staff, usually FY1 or FY2 trainees.
The Department is friendly and supportive, providing an excellent mentoring environment. The appointee will have an office equipped with a PC and internet access. IT training is available if required. There will be designated full time secretarial support.
